Milan, 31 Mar. (LaPresse) – “No upheaval” in the function of the migrant centres set up in Albania: “We have added further possibilities for carrying out functions already provided for and for which the centres are already equipped”. The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, said so in an interview with the newspaper Il Messaggero. ‘Without the centres changing any other aspect of their original functionality – he pointed out – in the coming months it is destined to resume full operation’. For the transfer of migrants from Italy to Albania ‘the competent offices of my Ministry are already working and the first transfers will start in the next few days’. ‘The reception centre in Albania will help strengthen our repatriation system which has already recorded a further 30% growth in these first months of the year’.
