Milan, 2 Apr. (LaPresse) – The Court of Milan has acquitted Selvaggia Lucarelli of the charge of defamation for having defined Fedex as ‘Bimbominkia’ in a post on social media. This was the decision of Judge Giuseppe Cernuto of the second criminal division, at the end of the pre-trial hearing in which he did not recognise the ‘reasonable hypothesis of conviction’ in a trial. The deadline for filing the reasons for the decision not to proceed is set at 15 days. The rapper's lawyers tried to argue, based on a ruling by the Court of Cassation, that the expression ‘Bimbominkia’ was in itself defamatory. This argument was rejected by Lucarelli's lawyer, Barbara Indovina, who filed a brief in which she also cited the song by Fedez with J-Ax entitled ‘Bimbiminkia4life’ and a passage from ‘Polaroid’ in which Federico Leonardo Lucia writes ‘if God became Instagram he'd already be a bimbominchia’ (a slang term for a stupid, ugly woman).
