Milan, April 10 (LaPresse) – A fire broke out around 11 AM on Thursday morning in a tunnel on the A12 Genoa-Sestri Levante highway, between Lavagna and Sestri Levante. As a result, the Ligurian highway network was cut in half for several hours. Traffic was closed in both directions to allow for inspections of the tunnel. Over ten kilometers of traffic jams were reported on the Aurelia road between Chiavari and Sestri Levante. Water was distributed to users stuck in traffic. On-site, personnel from Autostrade per l’Italia, firefighters, and all emergency vehicles are present.
