This is how Andrea Beretta explained to his wife, in a conversation in prison in October 2024, his decision to collaborate with the Milan prosecutors investigating the illegal trafficking of Meazza Stadium tickets and the rise of the ‘Ndrangheta in San Siro. This is what emerges from the order of pre-trial detention in prison for murder aggravated by mafia methods against the 49-year-old, investigated together with Muro Nepi as the ‘mastermind’ of the murder of Vittorio Boiocchi on 29 October 2022, and arrested with 5 other people. Beretta is already detained in San Vittore for the murder of ‘ndrangheta member Antonio Bellocco. He tells his wife he wants to ‘cooperate’ not to ‘get a reduced sentence’, writes the investigating magistrate Daniela Cardamone, but out of fear of ‘imminent’ revenge against his ‘family’ after the murder of Bellocco by the Calabrian gang of the same name.
