Milan, April 30 (LaPresse) – The Congregation of Cardinals, in a statement, expressed its "appreciation for the gesture" made by Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu, who yesterday announced his decision not to take part in the Conclave to elect the successor of Pope Francis.
The Congregation of Cardinals "acknowledged that" Becciu, "having the good of the Church at heart, and in order to contribute to the unity and serenity of the Conclave, has communicated his decision not to participate in it. In this regard, the Congregation of Cardinals expresses appreciation for the gesture he has made and hopes that the competent judicial authorities will be able to definitively clarify the facts," the statement reads.
