Vatican City, May 6 (LaPresse) – “We, the Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, gathered in General Congregation before the beginning of the Conclave, regretfully observe that no progress has been made to advance peace processes in Ukraine, the Middle East, and many other parts of the world. On the contrary, attacks have intensified, especially to the detriment of civilian populations. We issue a heartfelt appeal to all parties involved to reach a permanent ceasefire as soon as possible and to negotiate, without preconditions or further delay, the peace so long desired by the affected populations and by the entire world. We invite all the faithful to intensify their prayers to the Lord for a just and lasting peace.” This was stated in a communiqué from the Congregation of Cardinals released by the Holy See Press Office.
