Rome, May 13 (LaPresse) – "The basis of comparison is constituted by a logically and legally solid framework, not only for the strength expressed by each of the main pieces of evidence based on their autonomous consistency but also for the presence of numerous and meticulous elements of corroboration." This is stated by the judges of the Fifth Criminal Section of the Court of Cassation, who on March 25 rejected the request for a review of the trial made by the defense lawyers of Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi, confirming the life sentence for the couple for the Erba massacre. The judges point to "the confession of the two defendants, although retracted" and "the admission of guilt reported in handwritten notes and writings directed to third parties, the testimony of the only eyewitness, and the presence of blood traces linked to Valeria Cherubini on Romano's car."
