Milan, May 15 (LaPresse) – Rasmus Paludan, a far-right Danish politician known for repeatedly burning copies of the Quran in public, was stopped by border police upon arrival this morning at Malpensa Airport and will now be expelled from Italy.

As confirmed by the Varese Police Headquarters, the 43-year-old founder of the Stram Kurs (Hard Line) party was detained and will be deported as he is considered a threat to public order, based on incidents involving him in other countries. The deportation order issued by the Varese Chief of Police and Prefect has been upheld by the Milan Court. Paludan will therefore be repatriated.

The expulsion comes ahead of the Remigration Summit 2025, a gathering of far-right groups from across Europe, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at a location yet to be disclosed. The Varese Prefecture has put in place specific monitoring and security measures for the event.
