Vatican City (Vatican), 19 May (LaPresse) – ‘“No” to war and “yes” to peace, “no” to the arms race and “yes” to disarmament, “no” to an economy that impoverishes peoples and the Earth and “yes” to integral development’. These were the words of Pope Leo XIV to representatives of other Churches and ecclesial communities and other religions gathered in Rome for the Eucharistic celebration marking the beginning of his Petrine ministry. ‘The witness of our fraternity, which I hope we will be able to show through effective gestures, will certainly contribute to building a more peaceful world, as all men and women of good will desire in their hearts,’ added Prevost, expressing his gratitude to those present for their ‘contribution to peace.’
