Milan, 21 May (LaPresse) – The Venice Public Prosecutor's Office is appealing against the life sentence handed down to Filippo Turetta, who had acknowledged the aggravating circumstance of premeditation, dropping stalking and cruelty so that the latter two could be recognised. LaPresse has learned this from qualified sources. On 3 December, the Venice Assize Court sentenced Turetta to life imprisonment for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Giulia Cecchettin, a crime that the young man from Torreglia, in the province of Padua, had confessed to. The judges did not recognise the aggravating circumstances of cruelty and stalking.
