Milan, June 7 (LaPresse) – “An urgent commitment to support peace” is what emerged from this morning's meeting in the Vatican between Pope Leo XIV and Argentine President Javier Milei. During the “cordial talks” in the Secretariat of State, according to a statement from the Holy See, "mutual appreciation for the solid bilateral relations and the desire to further strengthen them was reaffirmed. The discussion then focused on issues of common interest, including socio-economic developments, the fight against poverty, and the commitment to social cohesion." Finally, “discussions focused on regional and international socio-political issues, with special attention to ongoing conflicts, noting the importance of an urgent commitment to support peace.” Milei then met with Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Monsignor Miroslaw Wachowski, undersecretary for Relations with States.
