Rome, 10 June (LaPresse) – "The restoration of dignity that comes from the sabbatical year gives hope, because it makes us turn our gaze to so many brothers and sisters, especially immigrants, who are exploited in farm work and who are not always paid a fair wage in the sad phenomenon of caporalato, forms of social security and rest periods. The Jubilee Year also comes so that agricultural entrepreneurs who treat workers in this way may have a stir of conscience and give hope to so many men and women who are continually exploited." This was written by the Italian Episcopal Conference in its message for the Day of Thanksgiving scheduled for 9 November.
