Rome, 10 June (LaPresse) – A 46-year-old woman died in the emergency room of the Policlinico Umberto I hospital in Rome after being transported by a private ambulance that had rescued her from a cosmetic surgery clinic in Via Franco Roncati 6, in the Torrevecchia area of the Primavalle district of Rome. The 46-year-old woman felt ill while undergoing liposuction at the private clinic. According to investigators, the doctor, anaesthetist and nurse first attempted to resuscitate her without calling for help and then, after a few hours, contacted a private ambulance with a doctor on board without calling 118. The tragedy occurred on Sunday afternoon, after 5 p.m., and she died in hospital around 8 p.m. The public prosecutor's office has entered the surgeon, anaesthetist and nurse in the register of suspects on suspicion of manslaughter. The clinic has been seized. The police are investigating.
