Rome, June 12 (LaPresse) – The autopsy on the body of Ana Sergia Alcivar Chenche, a 46-year-old Ecuadorian woman who died at the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome after undergoing liposuction at a private medical clinic, revealed, according to LaPresse, "no massive pulmonary embolism, but a peripheral embolism has not been ruled out at this stage." Histological tests will therefore be crucial to determine the exact cause of death. The medical team at the Institute of Legal Medicine at Verano has also conducted toxicology tests, the results of which will be available in a few weeks. The woman had arrived in critical condition aboard a private ambulance, called with delay after the liposuction procedure at an unlicensed clinic in the Primavalle area, near Torrevecchia. For her death, the following individuals are under investigation for manslaughter: 65-year-old plastic surgeon Jose Lizarraga Picciotti, of Peruvian origin, a 67-year-old anesthesiologist named Paolo Colcerasa, and a nurse. The autopsy was ordered by prosecutor Sergio Colaiocco, while the investigation is being carried out by the Rome police's mobile squad and the Primavalle police district. The entire medical clinic, which had been illegally converted into a surgical facility, has been seized. According to reports, the woman had experienced severe discomfort several hours before emergency services arrived, but no one present called 118 in time. Medical intervention only occurred after the clinic owner contacted a private ambulance company, which is now under investigation by both the police and the judicial authorities.
