Milan, 18 June (LaPresse) – The key to access the electronic file containing the topics for the first exam was provided to schools by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday morning. At 8:30 a.m., the final exam began with the Italian test. Here are the topics: for type A (text analysis), a poem by Pier Paolo Pasolini; also for type A, an excerpt from “Il Gattopardo” by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. For the current affairs essay, there is an excerpt from Judge Paolo Borsellino (“I giovani, la mia speranza” – “Young people, my hope”). A text taken from “Indignation is the driving force behind social media, but is it useful?” by Anna Meldolesi and Chiara Lalli, published in 7, the weekly supplement of Corriere della Sera on 13 December 2024, is among the passages proposed for type C, the current affairs topic. An excerpt from “The 1930s: The Decade That Shook the World” by Piers Brendon was given to students taking their final exams for type B, the argumentative essay. “Respect” is Treccani's word of the year. And it is essential for breathing: it is one of the topics in the argumentative text proposed to high school students for their Italian exam. Students were given a text by Riccardo Maccioni, published in Avvenire on 17 December. The seventh topic, again type B, is the passage “Un quarto d'ora (geologica) di celebrità” (A (geological) quarter of an hour of fame) by philosopher Telmo Pievani.
