Palermo, 20 June (LaPresse) – After more than ten months, this morning around 11 a.m., the Bayesian resurfaced from the waters of Porticello, where it sank on August 19 last year. The technicians from TMC Marine lifted the hull from a depth of 49 meters and brought it to the surface to complete the strapping operations on the wreck, which will be lifted into the air tomorrow and taken ashore at the port of Termini Imerese. Around sixty people are working on the operation, which has cost over 25 million euros. In the coming hours, the process of draining water from the hull will begin, while the 18,000 liters of fuel and oil will be removed once the wreck is on dry land in Termini Imerese.
