Milan, 27 June (LaPresse) – A heatwave is expected across Italy this weekend, with red alerts in place from north to south. On Friday, 13 cities are on high alert for heat waves, rising to 17 on Saturday. According to the latest bulletin from the Ministry of Health, the cities on red alert on Saturday are Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Pescara, Rome, Turin, Trieste, Venice and Verona. On Sunday, four more will be added: Catania, Civitavecchia, Rieti and Viterbo. Heat waves occur when very high temperatures are recorded for several consecutive days, often associated with high humidity, strong solar radiation and lack of ventilation. These weather conditions can pose a risk to public health, warns the Ministry.
