Milan, 28 June (LaPresse) – "Even before the constitutionality issues, I believe it was very inappropriate to remove those regulations from Parliament. Then, I want to say clearly that the law also contains some positive changes that should not be criticised out of hand. But many other provisions convey a vision that is not befitting of a liberal country." This was stated by the chief prosecutor of Perugia, Raffaele Cantone, in an interview with La Repubblica, regarding the report by the Supreme Court's Massimario on the Security Decree. As for the separation of careers, Cantone commented that this is anything but “dignity and freedom for the judiciary”, as promised by Minister Nordio. “This reform is deeply flawed: it is not useful for the efficiency of justice, it has punitive intentions and aims to discredit the judiciary,” added the magistrate.
