Rome, July 1 (LaPresse) – Italy’s Supreme Court has upheld the life sentence for Paolo Bellini, a former member of the far-right group Avanguardia Nazionale, who was found guilty of involvement in the Bologna train station bombing on August 2, 1980. The attack killed 85 people and injured more than 200.
The judges of the Sixth Criminal Section also confirmed the six-year prison sentence for former Carabinieri captain Piergiorgio Segatel, convicted of obstruction of justice.
Additionally, the four-year sentence was upheld for Domenico Catracchia, a property manager on Via Gradoli in Rome, found guilty of providing false information to the public prosecutor.
