Milan, 5 July (LaPresse) – "At 11.20 a.m., the Seveso flood containment tank was activated to block the wave caused by heavy rains that hit the Brianza area: 70 mm in Cantù, 50 mm in Cesano, 50 mm in Besana. These heavy rains have caused the Seveso to rise above 2.5 metres in Palazzolo, and the flood wave is now reaching Milan." This was reported by Marco Granelli, Councillor for Public Works, Land Care and Civil Protection, on his Facebook profile, where he recalled that it is “the week since the end of 2023 that the work carried out by the Municipality of Milan and MM has protected the city of Mano from flooding that brought the city to its knees for 50 years”. “There is also concern for the Lambro,” added the councillor.
