Rome, 11 July (LaPresse) – Rudy Guede, accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, has been committed to stand trial at the court of Viterbo. The man, already convicted of the murder of Meredith Kercher, which took place in Perugia on 1 November 2007, is being defended by lawyer Carlo Mezzetti. The trial will begin on 4 November. The judge's decision came at the end of today's hearing, after a deliberation lasting about an hour and a half. According to LaPresse, Guede has always refused a fast-track trial, convinced that he can dismantle the prosecution's case during the trial. The victim, who is a civil party, is defended by lawyer Francesco Guido.
