Vatican City, July 17 (LaPresse) – Pope Leo XIV renews "the appeal for an immediate ceasefire and expresses his deep hope for dialogue, reconciliation, and lasting peace" in the Gaza Strip. This is the message of condolence sent by the Holy Father Leo XIV, signed by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, for the victims of this morning’s military attack on the Church of the Holy Family in Gaza. The Pope was "deeply saddened to learn of the loss of lives and the injuries caused by the military attack on the Catholic Church of the Holy Family in Gaza, and assures the parish priest, Father Gabriele Romanelli, and the entire parish community of his spiritual closeness," the condolence telegram continues. "Entrusting the souls of the deceased to the loving mercy of Almighty God, the Holy Father prays for the comfort of those who mourn and for the healing of the injured," wrote Leo XIV.
