Fermo, July 18 (LaPresse) – The Fermo Prosecutor’s Office has opened a file against unknown persons following the death of Felix Baumgartner, the 56-year-old parachutist and athlete who died yesterday after 3 p.m. in Porto Sant’Elpidio (Fermo) while paragliding, ending up in the swimming pool of Camping Le Mimose. Although this is a procedural step, LaPresse has learned that the possibility of a sudden illness is being carefully considered. A technical inspection of the equipment is scheduled for next week. An autopsy has also been ordered, though the medical examiner has not yet been appointed. Baumgartner was on vacation in the Fermo area with his family.
