Milan, 22 July (LaPresse) – "I am certain that the four officers of the Guardia di Finanza and the two of the Port Authority who have been sent to trial for the tragedy in Cutro will prove their complete innocence with regard to the charges brought against them. The responsibility for the tragedies caused by the ruthlessness of human traffickers cannot in any way be extended to those who have always worked daily to ensure the safety of people at sea and the rule of law in complicated situations. We will stand by them in every way to support them in this battle for justice and civilisation." This was stated by Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.
