Rome, 22 July (LaPresse) – A doctor has been caught performing plastic surgery on ears despite being suspended from practising medicine. For this reason, he has been placed under house arrest in Rome. The Carabinieri of the NAS (Nucleo Antisofisticazioni e Sanità, Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit) of Rome carried out the precautionary measure, issued by the investigating magistrate of Rome, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, which, due to the seriousness of the facts, had requested imprisonment for the doctor caught in recent days operating in a private home in Rome.The investigations by the Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit of the Capital, under the direction of Deputy Prosecutor Eleonora Fini, made it possible to stop the illegal activities of the doctor, who had already been suspended from practising medicine. In recent days, the doctor had been caught with surgical equipment while performing otoplasty surgery in an apartment inhabited by South Americans in the Quadraro district of Rome. The previous precautionary suspension measure stemmed from other legal proceedings, which saw the professional under investigation for performing an unauthorised operation and for private violence. He was also under investigation, again by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, for the death of a woman following complications from liposuction surgery.
