Rome, 23 July (LaPresse) – Artiom Naliato, a 21-year-old Ukrainian living in San Luca Tribano, in the province of Padua, Veneto, died two days ago in a bombing in Ukraine. ‘The news arrived yesterday,’ Mayor Massimo Cavazzana told LaPresse. ‘From what we understand, the young man died when a missile struck the barracks where he was staying. The incident appears to have occurred at lunchtime. He was intelligent and, despite not having finished school, had found work,’ added the mayor of San Luca Tribano, recalling the 21-year-old's ‘sensitivity’ and his ties to Ukraine. Naliato had been adopted by an Italian family, but “wanted to defend” his homeland. This bond had been further strengthened since August 2022, when Artio Naliato returned to Ukraine “in search of his brother”. He subsequently returned to Italy, but given the situation, “he decided to return” to Ukraine.
