Naples, July 28 (LaPresse) – The first West Nile virus death has been recorded in Campania. The victim is an 80-year-old man from Maddaloni who died at the 'Sant’Anna e San Sebastiano' Hospital in Caserta. The man, a resident of the eastern part of Maddaloni, suffered from several pre-existing and severe health conditions, and his clinical condition was described as "already compromised" at the time of the West Nile virus infection. The elderly man passed away this morning.
