Milan, Aug. 8 (LaPresse) – There are 24,026 places available for Medicine and Surgery in public and private universities for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This marks an increase of 3,002 places compared to 2024/2025 and 8,191 more than in 2022.
"The increase in available spots represents a concrete investment in the future of thousands of students who choose to become doctors. Alongside the entrance exam, we have significantly expanded the educational offer, to truly value merit, dedication, and the calling of those approaching this profession, which is also a mission," said the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini.
"We have abolished a rigid and often penalizing selection system to open the doors of the university and offer a path based on education, not exclusion.
It is a visionary choice that strengthens public universities," the Minister continued, "puts study back at the center, and contributes to strengthening the national health service by training more, and better prepared, doctors."
