Rome, August 17 (LaPresse) – "In order to ensure transparency in the actions of Nuova Fiera del Levante, the company has accepted the formal invitation from the Mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, on July 1st, not to allow Israel's participation in any of the fair activities held at the Bari exhibition center, including institutional and economic events," reads a press release from Nuova Fiera del Levante. The letter also mentions that the municipal council declared Israel's participation unwelcome for future editions of the Levante Fair and specialized salons until Israel halts its military intervention in Gaza and stops the systematic violation of human rights. "Not due to any legal bond but because of shared ethical and political views, Nuova Fiera del Levante has distanced itself from the ongoing atrocities and genocide against the Palestinian people and has supported the initiative to nominate Gaza's children for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize," the statement continues. The company, represented by its president Gaetano Frulli, also joined a petition launched by the "L'Isola che non c'è" association, led by honorary president journalist Franco Giuliano.
