Rome, Aug. 19 (LaPresse) – On July 30 and August 14, precautionary measures were carried out in Colombia, issued by the Judicial Authority of the Department of Magdalena, against two Colombian citizens considered responsible, in complicity, for the murder of Alessandro Coatti, which occurred on April 6 in Santa Marta (Colombia). These measures join those executed last May against four Colombian citizens involved in the murder. The Rome Prosecutor’s Office conducted the investigations nationally through diversified and complex checks carried out by the ROS Carabinieri. The investigations, conducted in synergy with the Sectional Prosecutor’s Office of the Department of Magdalena within the framework of mutual legal assistance, with Colombian police forces and with the constant support of the International Police Cooperation Service, involved, in addition to witness interviews, technical checks on objects and electronic devices belonging to the victim. These analyses of the electronic devices shed light on Alessandro Coatti’s final days, particularly his movements in the city of Santa Marta (Colombia), helped reconstruct the stages of the crime, and provided useful elements for identifying the perpetrators.
