Rome, Aug 26 (LaPresse) – On Saturday morning in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thanks to investigations led by the Italian State Police – Caserta Mobile Squad, coordinated by the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Prosecutor’s Office, and in cooperation with the Central Service for International Police Cooperation, Bosnian police units (SIPA) located and arrested five suspects accused of carrying out an aggravated robbery on the night of March 22 at the Deutsche Bank in Caserta. The sixth accomplice had already been arrested on July 15 at the Italian border.
On the night of March 22, 2025, the six suspects, disguised and arriving in a car with stolen plates, took the bank’s cash machine and fled. A police patrol tried to block their escape but was hit by the suspects’ vehicle, destroying the police car and injuring two officers, who recovered in 7 and 10 days respectively. One officer managed to remove a balaclava from one robber’s face, identifying him. Despite this, the suspects escaped with help from two others in another stolen car. The stolen cash machine was abandoned thanks to police intervention.
The Mobile Squad found the robbers’ getaway car burned and abandoned in Giugliano in Campania. All suspects are of Romani origin, living in camps near Naples, with multiple prior convictions. The night after the robbery, they fled Italy and entered Bosnia and Herzegovina.
