Naples, 1 September (LaPresse) – 119 earthquakes have been preliminarily detected by the Vesuvius Observatory of the INGV during the seismic swarm in progress in the Campi Flegrei area since 4:09 p.m. yesterday, Sunday 31 August. Of these, 50 earthquakes exceeded magnitude 1.0, two were equal to or greater than magnitude 3.0, and one reached magnitude 4.0, recorded at 4:55 this morning with its epicentre near Solfatara.
