Milan, 1 September (LaPresse) – Just under 54,000 students will begin attending lessons and courses for the “filter” semester today in order to enrol in the Faculty of Medicine. This marks the debut of the reform of university admission to become a doctor, promoted by the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, which requires passing entrance exams and the establishment of an open semester with free access and simultaneous enrolment in another related course of study. There are three courses in the open semester starting today: Chemistry and Introductory Biochemistry, Physics and Biology. Each subject will award 6 credits (CFU) for a total of 18. At the end of the open semester, each student will have to take exams on the three subjects. The exams will be the same nationwide and will take place simultaneously on the same day.
