Florence, Sept. 2 (LaPresse) – “It’s good news. We await the outcome of the investigation, but for now I want to thank all institutional levels that worked so quickly to identify the alleged perpetrator,” said the Mayor of Florence, Sara Funaro, speaking about the investigation into the sexist website and the identification of its alleged administrator, who was reportedly tracked down following a complaint filed with the postal police by the mayor herself.

“I filed the complaint,” Funaro explained, “not just for me, but for all women. And I urge every woman to do the same when similar episodes occur. Report them, don’t stay silent, don’t allow serious and shameful acts like this one to be hidden away. It is violence—even when it happens in that world still too lacking in rules and oversight, like the web. We must all be aware of this. And we must never feel fear or shame in raising our voices. It is those who commit these disgraceful acts who should be ashamed.”
