Vatican City (Vatican), 3 September (LaPresse) – ‘None of us can be self-sufficient. No one can save themselves on their own. Life is “fulfilled” not when we are strong, but when we learn to receive.’ So said Pope Leo XIV during Wednesday's general audience in St. Peter's Square. ‘To be true, love must also learn to ask and not only to give,’ Leo continued, emphasising: ‘On the cross, Jesus teaches us that man does not find fulfilment in power, but in trusting openness to others, even when they are hostile and enemies. Salvation does not lie in autonomy, but in humbly recognising one's needs and knowing how to express them freely.’
