Milan, 11 September. (LaPresse) – Lawyer Alessia Pontenani, psychiatrist Marco Garbarini and three psychologists from Milan's San Vittore prison have requested a fast-track trial in the Milan Public Prosecutor's investigation into the alleged “plan” orchestrated by Alessia Pifferi's defence team to derail the trial for the voluntary manslaughter of her 18-month-old daughter, Diana, by pretending that the woman was “suffering from severe mental retardation” and avoid a life sentence. This emerged during the preliminary hearing held this morning before Judge Roberto Crepaldi on charges of aiding and abetting and numerous counts of forgery. Only psychologist Letizia Marazzi requested a standard trial. The proceedings were adjourned until 22 September and 9 October, with the defence's arguments, to decide on the prosecutor's request for indictment, possible acquittals or convictions and summary acquittals.
