Rome, 17 September. (LaPresse) – The First Criminal Section of the Court of Cassation has confirmed the life sentence for Giovanni Padovani, former footballer and model, charged with the femicide of his ex-girlfriend Alessandra Matteuzzi, which took place in Bologna on 23 August 2022. The 56-year-old woman was attacked outside her home, first with punches and kicks and then with a hammer. Padovani, 28, had already received two convictions: the first in the Court of Assizes and the second in the Court of Appeal, where the aggravating circumstances of stalking, emotional attachment, cruelty and premeditation were recognised. The judges accepted the request that had been made this morning by the Attorney General.
