Rome, 25 September (LaPresse) – "Our stance must be firm, not provocative, so that the situation does not risk escalating. We must avoid falling into provocation because an escalation would have consequences for everyone. But it seems that every day someone is seeking this escalation, wanting it. Deterrence and determination to respect the pact that binds us to our NATO allies must serve to open the way for dialogue." This was stated by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto during an urgent briefing to the Senate on the evolution of the situation on the eastern European front.
