Rome, 26 September (LaPresse) – Yesterday, a meeting chaired by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, was held at the Municipal Operations Centre in Monteruscello, Pozzuoli, to provide an update on the situation in the Phlegraean Fields. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Naples, the Mayors of Pozzuoli, Bacoli and Monte di Procida, as well as the citizens' committees of the Phlegraean area on the subject of bradyseism. The Prefect stated that the meeting was a discussion between institutions and committees with the aim of updating citizens on current activities and future plans, taking into account that the government has provided for extraordinary fiscal and financial measures to support the population and local economic activities in order to deal with the bradyseism emergency. During the meeting, representatives of the municipal administrations illustrated the initiatives launched, providing data and information on the technical and administrative procedures in place. At the same time, the committees highlighted some critical issues regarding the checks being carried out on buildings, and the Prefect assured them of his full availability and attention to the needs represented. In particular, on the issue of public transport in the Flegrea area, regarding which the committees requested a strengthening of the road network, a special meeting will be held at the Prefecture in the coming days. The meeting ended with the prospect of a new meeting in the near future, without prejudice to the constant monitoring of ongoing activities.
