Rome, 15 October (LaPresse) – Following the clashes that took place last night at the end of the Pro Pal demonstration in Udine, 15 people (all EU citizens, including 9 men and 6 women) were taken to the police station and issued with a notice to leave the city. Two of them were also arrested: one man was accused of damage to property and resisting a public official. He is already known to the police. Given his previous record, he was taken to prison. A second person is under house arrest for resisting a public official. This was announced by the Udine police commissioner, Pasquale Antonio de Lorenzo. Eleven law enforcement personnel (10 police officers and one carabiniere) were injured in the clashes; six police officers were taken to the local emergency room, where they were examined: four were diagnosed with minor injuries and two were kept under observation and discharged this morning. Four other police officers went to the hospital in Latisana on their own today, where they are currently being examined by medical staff. A carabiniere was treated on the street for minor abrasions. This adds to the two journalists who were injured, to whom de Lorenzo expressed the solidarity of the police force. As for activities inside the Friuli stadium, during the match, about 10 violations of the rules of use were reported for displaying the Palestinian flag, and two men and one woman were reported but not arrested. Specifically, the two men invaded the pitch during the match and were promptly stopped by stewards, while the woman, after invading the pitch, violently railed against the police: she was reported for resisting a public official.
