Milan, Oct. 21 (LaPresse) – “I don’t think the tragic events in Rieti were needed to make us reflect on the seriousness of a phenomenon — the militarization of violent groups that revolve not only around football but also other sports, such as basketball. This militarization is built around slogans typical of Aryan supremacism and antisemitism, and from this point of view, any surprise would seem excessive to me.”
These were the words of the National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor, Giovanni Melillo, on the sidelines of a press conference concerning the judicial administration order for Juve Stabia, while commenting on the attack by Rieti ultras against the bus carrying Pistoia supporters.
