Rome, 1 November (LaPresse) – "I have learned of the road accident that occurred in Torre del Greco in the early hours of today, involving a State Police car on duty, in which Assistant Chief Coordinator Aniello Scarpati lost his life. Deeply saddened, I express my sympathy and closeness to you and the entire force, and I ask you to convey my heartfelt condolences to the family." This was the message sent by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a telegram to the Chief of Police, Vittorio Pisani, following the incident in Torre del Greco. “I extend my heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to the officer who was injured,” added the Head of State.
