Milan, 1 November (LaPresse) – A ‘rapid intervention’ on the Superintendent for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Milan, Emanuela Carpani, to allow her to be ‘heard’ by the Commission of the Milan City Council on the matter of the sale of the San Siro stadium. This is the content of a certified email that the president of the Institutional Affairs and Metropolitan City Commission of the Municipality of Milan, Enrico Fedrighini, sent to the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, the Prefect of Milan, Claudio Sgaraglia, and the presidents of the Culture Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, Federico Mollicone and Roberto Marti, after the Milanese Superintendent twice declined the request for a hearing, claiming that she was not a “political body” and wanted to avoid “any kind of exploitation” in a sensitive matter such as the sale of the Meazza stadium. Carpani was asked for further details and some “clarifications” regarding the “preliminary opinion expressed at the Services Conference” in spring 2025 in light of the “contents” of the resolution to sell the stadium and the surrounding neighbourhood voted on 30 September. “In the council committees, we have hosted and continue to host magistrates, doctors and teachers of various disciplines in order to examine, from a technical and procedural point of view, issues and problems of public interest, on topics that are often far more relevant than the Meazza stadium affair,” reads Fedrighini's email, which asks the institutions for ‘rapid intervention with the Superintendent of Milan’ to ‘allow her to attend the committee hearing, albeit online’.
