Trento, 7 November (LaPresse) – Compulsory indictment for the president of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, for the killing of bear M90. This was decided by the investigating magistrate of Trento, who rejected the request for dismissal made by the public prosecutor, thus accepting the opposition presented by animal rights associations and in particular by Enpa. According to the investigating magistrate, the bear “was killed in a cruel manner as it was not anaesthetised before being shot, despite being equipped with a radio collar and easily traceable”. The animal was shot twice, which, according to the investigation, did not cause its immediate death. Two provincial officials are also listed in the register of suspects.
