Rome, 17 Dec. (LaPresse) – ‘Now that all charges against me have been dropped, I would like to address for the first time the story that, unfortunately, in one way or another, you have all heard about. I waited two years, trusting in justice, for a verdict, just as I waited to be able to explain my point of view publicly after suffering relentless media harassment without ever having been convicted or tried.’ Leonardo Apache La Russa wrote this on social media after the Milan magistrate deemed adequate the offer made by the son of the President of the Senate to the girl who reported him for revenge porn, as well as for sexual assault, the latter charge having already been dismissed. ‘People,’ explains the young man, "jumped to conclusions, labelling me, judging me, wishing me prison, death and so on, without having any knowledge of what actually happened, without a single piece of evidence to prove my guilt in any way. So, does that seem fair to you? Although I tried to hide it, I have suffered from depression over the past two years, even contemplating suicide. I was afraid of being labelled for life, afraid that my friends and acquaintances would abandon me, afraid that I would never be able to reveal the truth."
