Milan, 8 January (LaPresse) – Gabriel Valdez Velazco has confessed to the sexual assault and murder of Aurora Livoli, which took place on the night between 28 and 29 December in Milan. This was clarified by his lawyer, Massimiliano Migliara, at the end of the interrogation of the 57-year-old, which took place this morning in San Vittore prison in Milan. “In a purely circumstantial case, my client has admitted to the crimes, the murder and the sexual intercourse,” said Velazco's lawyer. Regarding the circumstances that led him to meet the 19-year-old from Latina, the 57-year-old “stated that they met and that the girl wanted help to buy cigarettes”. According to the lawyer, the man “did not even realise, according to him, that he had committed murder, strangulation; he realised it afterwards, the next day, from the newspapers”. Velazco “believed that the girl was not dead, he returned to the building to retrieve his mobile phone, which he had forgotten, and remained there, almost watching over the girl, believing her to be asleep, but in fact he was watching over a corpse, which he covered with a jacket, as was later found”.
