Palermo, 22 January (LaPresse) – The President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, has declared a state of emergency due to the damage caused by Cyclone Harry, which hit the island in recent days. An extraordinary session has just ended to deliberate on the request for natural disaster status to be granted by the national government. Initial estimates put the damage at around €740 million. The Sicilian government has already allocated the first €50 million, to which another €20 million will be added.
