Rome, 5 February (LaPresse) – Today marks the seventh hearing in the Vatican financial case, in which Cardinal Angelo Becciu is the main defendant. The focus is on the defence's counter-arguments, which reiterated the objections regarding the failure to publish the papal rescripts and requested that the proceedings be declared null and void. The prosecution defended the regulatory nature of the rescripts and the legitimacy of the actions of the promoter of justice. At the end of the hearing, the president of the Court, Monsignor Giuseppe Pignatone Arellano, announced that “the Court reserves the right to deliberate” and that the parties will be reconvened. As a result, tomorrow's hearing, scheduled for Friday, has been cancelled.
