Rome, 17 February (LaPresse) – The preliminary hearing judge in Rome has ordered the indictment of Stefano Bandecchi, current mayor of Terni, on charges of tax evasion. The magistrates accuse him of failing to pay approximately €20 million between 2018 and 2022, as de facto administrator of the Niccolò Cusano telematic university. Bandecchi, who was present in court and assisted by lawyers Filippo Morlacchini and Ali Abukar, is due to appear before the single-judge court on 4 June. Three other former executives of the company are also on trial. “We expected this,” was Bandecchi's comment as he left the courtroom in Piazzale Clodio in Rome.
