Milan, 17 March (LaPresse) – Andrea Dini, the brother-in-law of Lombardy Regional President Attilio Fontana, is under investigation along with five others for illegal hiring by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of an inquiry into exploitation in the fashion and ‘Made in Italy’ sectors. On Tuesday, prosecutors Paolo Storari and Daniela Bartolucci ordered emergency judicial supervision of Dama spa, the knitwear and clothing manufacturer led by the 61-year-old brother of the governor’s wife, Roberta Dini. The charge against the company – which has an annual turnover of €107 million, profits of €5.6 million and 309 employees, 130 of whom are factory workers – and which is under investigation under the law on the administrative liability of legal entities, is the ‘exploitation’ of Chinese workers in a ‘state of need’ who are employed seven days a week from 8 am to 10 pm in the production of garments for the Paul&Shark brand, the international label whose manufacturing operations are mainly based at its headquarters in Via Piemonte, Varese. The collections are distributed worldwide in the ‘most exclusive’ shopping destinations and via the company’s website. The operation, which must be reviewed by a magistrate within 10 days, was carried out this morning by the financial police.
